Holy Saviour Primary School of Woratle is in Irob district. It is located near the Eritrean border Weratle is 75 km. From Adigrat and is accessible to vehicle. Eastern Tigray where most of our diocesan schools are located is somewhat semiarid mountainous region and is densely populated. The land is eroded and degraded, and the rains are scarce and notoriously unreliable. The occupation of the majority of the people is farming, beekeeping, and raising cattle is also practiced. The entire population lives in poverty. That was why the Catholic Church had built the school of Holy Savior Primary School of Weratlein order to enable the people to make the best of a bad situation and to improve quality of life.

The school has contributed a lot to the community by giving formal education according to the curriculum and policy of education of the country. Moral education is also given at all grades with the vision: "to establish the kingdom of God through promoting integral human development, focusing on the development of person in general body- soul."

The community appreciates the way the school educates the young with academic subjects and above all its commitment to foster the spiritual and moral values of Catholic Church. The basic ideas of Christian ethics are taught and reflected in the day-to-day activities of the school. The school has been teaching and serving to promote peace, justice and love, in the community.

Before the establishment of the school in Woratle, young children used to go to Alitena School to learn, walking 4 to 5 hours every day.

The School in Woratle started in the year 1972 to benefit 6,300 inhabitants. Upon the agreement made with the government, the Church school was down graded form 1 - 6 to 1- 4 and grades 5 and 6 to be ran by government covering all the budget in the building recently constructed by the government.

One of the most serious problems of the Church School in Woratle is lack of potable water in the school. Of course this could be resolved by constructing cistern.
