Wutafa is a village dissected by a small stream with 6,500 inhabitants each holding a small plot of land for irrigation. The inhabitants on the available land are highly populated and the size of the individual farm is small. Farming is very largely subsistence and insufficient to meet family needs. When there was no school in the area the children from the poor families had no alternative but assist parents in farming.
In the year 1974 children started attending class under shade of tree. In 1985 the Catholic Church constructed a school with six classrooms. This diocesan school was established when there were no schools in the area. The school has contributed a lot to the community by giving formal education according to the curriculum and policy of Education of the country. Moral education is also given at all grades in all parish schools with the vision: to establish the kingdom of God through promoting integral human development, focusing on the development of person in general body- soul.
The community appreciates the way the school educates the young with academic subjects and above all its commitment and follow up to foster the spiritual and moral values of Catholic Church. The basic ideas of Christian ethics are taught and reflected in the day-to-day activities of the school. The school has been teaching and serving to promote peace, justice and love, in the community.
There is no potable water, reading room and pedagogical center in the school.
